While any Sunlight caregiver will treat you just like family, we know that it is just not the same as your own loved one. If the one thing holding you and your family back from starting home care is not feeling 100% comfortable with a new caregiver, don't let that stop you.

Caregiver must become an employee of Sunlight
Your Caregiver will be onboarded and hired by Sunlight Senior Care like any other Caregiver. They will have to go through our screening process and pass a background check. Then go through training, follow our policies, and be supervised on a regular basis.

Sunlight Senior Care's Family Caregiver Program is offered through Iowa Medicaid's CDAC program. We will act as the employer and facilitate scheduling, pay, contact with Case Managers, and care quality. You must first meet all requirements through Iowa Medicaid before utilizing Sunlight Senior Care's Family Caregiver Program. If you do not have Iowa Medicaid or do not have your own caregiver, you can still use Sunlight services and we will pair you with a caregiver on our staff. Do Family Caregivers have to work with other clients?
No. While taking other clients is always an option for Family Caregivers, you can choose to only be scheduled with your loved one.
Do Family Caregivers have to work a required number of hours?
If you choose to only work with your loved one, you only need to work the hours they are scheduled for. Because Sunlight has no hourly minimums, that means your hours could be anywhere from occasional Bath Visits to 24/7 Care.
Do I need to have previous work experience as a caregiver?
No. To be hired by Sunlight Senior Care once your loved one has stated they would like you assigned to their care, you must pass a thorough background check and complete our required Orientation.
