    Services your plan may include

    Personal care. Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and transfers.
    Meal support. Meal preparation, feeding assistance, hydration, and mealtime routines.
    Light housekeeping. Laundry, dishes, tidying, and keeping the home safer.
    Medication reminders. Friendly reminders to follow the established routine.
    Transportation and errands. Appointments, shopping, activities, and essential errands.
    Companionship. Conversation, activities, and one-on-one connection.
    Respite care. Short-term support so family caregivers can rest or handle other responsibilities.
    Dementia and Alzheimer's care. Routines, supervision, and reassurance for memory changes.

    Paying for home care

    Private pay

    Pay directly and choose a schedule that fits your needs and budget.

    Long-term care insurance

    Some policies reimburse qualifying non-medical home care. Coverage and waiting periods vary.

    Veterans benefits

    Eligible Veterans or surviving spouses may have VA programs that help with care costs.

    Medicaid waiver programs

    Eligible individuals may qualify for state home- and community-based services.

    Coverage and eligibility are determined by the insurer, VA program, or state Medicaid program. Sunlight Senior Care does not guarantee benefit eligibility or reimbursement.

    Common questions

    Are there long-term contracts?

    No. We only ask for one week's written notice if you want to cancel services.

    Can the care plan change?

    Yes. We check in regularly and adjust the plan as needs, routines, and family circumstances change.

    Can my family be involved?

    Yes. With your permission, family members can take part in conversations and care planning.

    Is this assessment a medical evaluation?

    No. It helps show how daily routines, health, and safety affect the amount of non-medical support that may be helpful.

    What happens to my answers?

    They stay on this page unless you choose to send them. If you send them, our care team stores them with your contact information so a coordinator can follow up.
